Death in the family

We used to have another cat that was even older than me. but she passed away last year. The owners put her in the back yard under the bird bath. Even though all we did was fight, she was still family. Is it weird to miss someone that you didn't get along with?

It is possible, I recently lost my mom. We weren't real close but I miss her a lot.
