Travel Plans Go Bad

Boomer on My Blog - Mon, June 18 2007

Father's day came and went. In the meantime I had to spend time in the...do I dare say it...car. The carrier was confining, the car was loud, I hated it. I meowed the whole hour and a half there and back. Sigh. I wish it ended there. When I arived, many things just went wrong. First and foremost, they had Simple Kitty cat food. I'm not that picky, but Simple Kitty is awful! I don't know how Gigi does it. I can't believe she eats that stuff! Then I found out the litter wasn't litter at all. In fact, Gigi's parents (my grandparents) ran out of litter and used soil instead. How primitive! Soil...I don't use soil! After some serious complaining, I got my own food and the actual litter a cat like I deserve. Then Michael (Dad's brother) came home. Of course when Michael comes home, Gigi wakes up. Let's just say she was not of the happy sort when she found out I was there. She hissed, growled, swatted, and basically told me, "Boomer, you better hope you can get back in that carrier in one piece!" I thought she was my girlfriend, but evidently not. Dad said something to the effect that she was an alpha female and was very territorial, but I just think she is playing hard to get. Regardless, I decided to toy with her. I laid in front of the litter, the food, her bed, anything to get her attention. She just walked away and rolled her eyes. The only good part of the vacation was having more opportunities to watch birds! Boy there were a lot of birds. My tail was a flying in the window seat! I just wish Dad could get the hint to put a feeder on the apartment balcony, but he keeps saying he doesn't want the mess to clean up. Maybe one day I'll have my own feeder, but until then I steal Gigi's. Coming home wasn't fun because of the stupid car ride and carrier, but at least I'm back now. Life is now complete.
