HELP ME!!!! DUMPED FURBABIES!!!!

Marci on Lost Pets - Wed, September 10 2008

I really need some help. I just found 1 YOUNG female pitt puppy and 2 YOUNG tortie shell kittens in the alley. We're 99% sure they've been dumped, as they were near an empty computer bag. I wouldn't return them to the owner either way. The pup is covered in scabs - some of them pretty large. She's calmed down a lot now and LOVES to be cuddled, but ducked and yelped when I reached for her. She also wouldn't tolerate anything around her neck. They do seem to be fairly well fed. I can't foster them, and I don't want to turn them over to animal control (especially the pitt puppy). Can somebody help with these poor babies.

Updates. Eveyone is actually adjusting well - NO, I still can't even foster anyone (we're leaving on vacation soon). The puppy is friendly, curious, smart, and good with the adult cats. She's actually doing well with Charlie and Sheila. She's no longer afraid of people. Not even a gruff white guy. The kittens are not ferral, and enjoy being handled. I really do still need someone willing to take them on. I would hate to see this pup put to sleep just because she's a pit. She's a DOLL. She's a beautiful semetrical brindle with dark sparkly eyes.

I have corresponded with a lady that does most of the pit temp testing at IACC. When my friend found a pit puppy awhile back, she said that we would need to get her intake number at AC and give it to this lady and she would pull the dog if it passed the temp test. If you want to send me your email, I'll send it along to her. She's really great and works so hard for our little Pittie friends!

Thanks Monica. I just sent my email to you via PM.

A friend of mine just lost his 15yr.old pit Shania right before Christmas last year. He has two other much loved pits, Faith and Bo. I'll call him to see if they've healed enough from the loss to open up their hearts to a new baby. He'll need pictures to help talk his wife into it.

Thanks Lynn. Let me get everyone cleaned up tonight (I think she'll be a bit more colorful), and get some good pics. I'll put them on here as well.

You are such a good angel for taking these guys in. Hopefully Lynn's friend will realize how much he needs this little girl.

Just in case, I know that my dog day care owner, Chris, works with a lot of rescues and fosters at the day care. 631-DOGS is the nubmer and You may want to give her a call - at least maybe if you were interested in fostering, she could board the puppy while you were on vacation?

I've been sllloooowwwwwllly introducing the hubby to the idea of fostering :), so if you post pics, i'll pass them to him and tell her story - small steps :)

But regardless, if you do talk to Chris, tell her Nigel's mom pointed you her way. Also, since we can't foster, I don't mind kicking in for the pup's food/expenses if needed.

These stories just break my heart.

Girl, you're killing me!! You know I have to take those kittens if no one else does! :) I'm going to have to open up Stacy's Cat Shack or Stacy's Cat House!! :) Thanks to Stephanie, I do have a spare crate I could set up in the bathroom. I have a person on another list that has a stray cat hanging around, and she thinks it needs medical care. There are so many homeless babies. :(

I just bought some extra small crates, and Kris has my extra large one that she could bring you if you really need to have these kids.

I'd love to have a new baby sister but Mom says that Grandma would string her up if she brought another baby home.

Mom said if I were nicer, we would just move you and mom in over here!! Your mom could help my mom with the Cat House! :)
