Cat on my chest

Debbie on Health - Tue, September 02 2008

Honestly, I did not know what was with Cookie last night. He was on me, literally, about 6 times throughout the night. I actually woke up thinking that I was having breathing problems when I noticed a 16lb. Cookie sitting on my chest, staring at me. The other times he would sit on me and nudge my arm to pet him. He'd nudge so hard, it hurt. I'm expecting a bruise to show up later.

Oreo was asleep all snuggled up and peaceful between our pillows, and then there's bulldozer Cookie. He was driving me crazy. Thank goodness I trimmed his nails since he was kneading my stomach half the night.

When I came down stairs this morning, he lead me to the laundry room where their food bowls are and darn it, if they weren't empty. He does wake me up if the cats are "starving" as we say, but he's never been so obnoxious about it!! Then once I filled them all up, he didn't eat. Pearle did but Cookie walked away, like "my work is done". I guess he was looking our for his little sister's tummy!! LOL!!

It's no wonder I'm always tired when I wake up.

That's too funny....sorry, but the dogs get really obnoxious like that when they don't have any water. KC swats around the empty bowl in the kitchen too. If they could only talk, it'd be a lot easier.

I just love how our pets find a way to communicate with us.
Needing water, food or just can't get the ball out from under the sofa.

Regina used to do that to me, alls she wanted some catnip. It took me months of the obnoxious 3 or 4 am wake-up calls to figure that out.

That's too funny!! He just doesn't feel secure when there's not food in that bowl!!

I don't allow my furballs into the bedroom, I'd NEVER sleep!

Between Patches and Charlie trying to rub all over me (then fighting with the other cats for "position" on the bed), Spokes wanted to be petted (nudgenudgenudge), Cyrus singing and Alvin bouncing off the walls... I'd be up all night!

Keeping them out of the bedroom helps with allergy and sinus issues, especially since Patches' favorite spot is on my head.

Batman puts his nose under my hand while I'm sleeping if he decides it is time to wake up and pet him. Or he licks my toes. The cats would probably like to sleep on the bed, but Batman says no one else can be up there but him. I feel lucky he allows me to sleep there.

That's how Colton wakes me up every morning! He will stick his big head under my hand and nudge it to get petted.

Romeo LOVES to lay on our chests. He doesn't sleep with us, but if we are taking a nap on the couch...he there on our chests. It was okay when he was only 10 pounds, but he's about 15 pounds now and HEAVY!

I'm notorious for waking Mom up about 15 minutes before her alarm goes off. I just want to make sure she hears it and isn't late for work.
