Ha! Thundercats (along with GI Joe of course) used to be my FAVORITE cartoon when I was younger.
Me too! I named the mama "Lioness" instead of "LionO". It sounds better for a girl. :)
Do you remember Jem and the Holograms? I loved that one too! Oh and Wacky Races, that's where we got the name Penelope, from Penelope Pitstop! :) Ah, Saturday morning used to be SO cool! Oh, and She-Ra and He-Man! I could go on and on!
I may or may not still have my Jem, GI Joe, ThunderCats (I always wanted to be Cheetara) and She-Ra action figures in my attic (hey, I be they're worth big bucks now) and I may or may not have watched the He-Man/She-Ra cartoon video CONSTANTLY as a kid :)
Saturday mornings WERE the best!
I'm glad to hear your kitties are doing well!! I talked to Nancy and she said someone from ARPO was working on getting us some of the $10 coupons from IndyFeral. I'm supposed to call the lady that has them tonight. I'm going to wait until Carol goes to her new home before I take them though. I wonder if they'll have fleas or anything. I just thought about that today. I don't even know if I can treat mom while she's nursing. This will be a learning experience!!
Great, let me know for sure!
Yeah, I'm learning new stuff every day! Our kitties were in our shed (which is pretty dilapidated) for about two and a half, three weeks. I haven't bathed any of them because just yesterday I was able to pick up two of them without scaring the poo out of them! (the one kitten i was actually able to grab when I brought them inside vs. trap, scratched the pe-wadden out of me and poo'd all over the place) But, they looked very clean when I brought them inside.
I look for fleas on them as well as I can and haven't seen any. That doesn't mean they definitely don't have any but I haven't been able to see any. We'll probably get them some Revolution when we take them to Hamilton Co. S/N.
You can ask a vet, but I am pretty sure that our Humane Society always flea treated the momma before we brought them home. Even if she was still nursing. I'd double check with a vet though....
You can flea treat Momma cat with Advantage and it'll be passed along to her kittens somehow, at least that's what I was told.
I talked with my vet today. They didn't mention it being passed along to the kittens, but that does make sense. They did say I could treat the momma. I just spoke with the person who has the kittens, and I'm hoping to get them Sunday morning. I have to get Carol into her new home before I pick these up though. Monica said her new mom is supposed to call me Friday, so I really hope to hear from her. Do you think it would be rude of me to call her? I don't want to bug her about taking the kitten, but I don't want to leave the lady who has this other litter hanging. I need more cages and time!!
I've talked to my vet about kittens and fleas, and she has said it was OK to put advantage on kittens as young as 4wks *IF* the fleas were really bad (sometimes they are). Another alternative is if you can give each one a dose of Capstar (I think that's the name). It only lasts 24hrs, but does a good job of killing off adult fleas in a hurry. It's typically recommended over Advantage for the wee ones for bad fleas.
As far as crates/cages, I've got one of these if someone needs to borrow it:

It's even pink, with black 'ladders'... I didn't pay close enough attention to color when ordering. Oops.
