Tell mom to get off her duff!

Charlie (Goosey) on Training - Sat, August 23 2008

Somebody needs to tell my mom to get off her duff. I missed out on most of my treats last night - AGAIN. Its not like its hard work (okay, I do take tug pretty seriously). Anyway, we never spend more than 20 minutes or so on weeknights training. I was really looking forward to tonight. We were going to do closer to a half hour of practice (practice is my new favorite word - anything that can get me 100 treats in 20 minutes is really exciting), but she just sat around like a bum. Of course that was after torturing us for more than an hour cutting up training treats. I only got two itty bitty pieces out of more than six cups. The pathetic training we did didn't get me any of those. NOOO, I got TOTs instead. Bad mom, really bad mom. All I can say is, she better pony up today.

"want to train" or just "training" is the word of choice in my house. You say that to me and I'll cock my head and LEAD you right to the training bag location. I LOVE to work for treats.

Lately, Mom's been working me for toys and privleges. Not quite as much fun as treats but I still get to hang out with Mom.

Your Mom will come around, charlie. It's been hot lately and our Mom's can't breathe too well in that.

Your mom is better than mine! She gets distracted with other stuff, and we don't train for a week! She keeps trying to be better, but something always comes up. I guess we have been working on come when called, but I know how to do that! Sometimes, I don't because I don't want to. Still, I know how!

Bev, Maybe you should train your mom to "stay". Don't know if it'd work, but may be worth a try!

Good idea!! I bet if I fed her Dove chocolates, she wouldn't go anywhere! :)
