Newshounds on Activities - Mon, August 18 2008

The Police officer kept these owners in their car while their dog passed away.

There is really no way to comment. Why couldn't the officer have escorted them to the ER clinic? If he needed to cite the driver, couldn't he have done it afterwards? "It's a dog, you can get another one" ??? You just can't figure what makes people do the things they do.

This would be one of those times when I would dispute the traffic ticket. I'd like this "officer" to tell his side of things on the stand... in front of the judge and all the other people in the courtroom. I'd also file a citizens' complaint, but then again, that's just me and I have a tendancy to be feisty.

Having worked with officers for the better part of my career, I can say confidently that 99% of them are truly good people who take to heart the "protect and serve" credo. But it's the other 1% like this person and the officer in California who was threatening to arrest Starbucks workers if they didn't give her free coffee, that give that 99% a bad rap that they don't deserve.

Heard on the radio, the
people were told by the
police: 'it's just a dog'.
The police have become so
insensitive ..........
