My dad had the surgery a while back... with the exception of not being able to drive when it was dark for about a month (he had 'halo' issues), everything else went well.
I'd LOVE to go glasses/contact free, but since I have an early start time to work (always dark), I couldn't exactly take a month or two off if I had the same issue as he did.
Just an update for today...feeling much better! Thanks for all the well wishes! I'm still a bit "fuzzy" with my vision, but not as bad as yesterday. I have that slight halo thing, mostly if the sun shines on something brightly colored, or white,(looking at computer screen, I'm wearing sunglasses, LOL) but otherwise, not doing badly at all. My eyes were pretty damn bad, though, so what I am calling GREAT, might not be so great to someone else, LOL, but I was pretty much blind, but could see light, and outlines of stuff before the surgery. No way could I be able to function had I lost my glasses. Right now, only 2 days out, I could drive at night, no problem. I had major problems seeing at night before WITH my glasses, LOL. To anyone thinking of doing this, but are afraid....DO IT!!! It's kinda like being "born again", LOL, I swear! My mom was cracking up at how excited I was at seeing flowers, birds' feathers flying above, and the clouds in the sky, as we left the doctors office. They gave me something at the Dr. office, to relax, and I also took some Rescue remedy before I went in, LOL, and it was really not stressful or scary at all, but I was WAAAAAY ready, too. I was not scared at all, and I'm sometimes wimpy. Oh, earlier, Joe gave me the "nose" in the eyelid...OUCH, that hurt, but I'll take some Advil, hope it feels better, LOL. It's funny, the dogs all have gave me funny looks all weekend, I realize how much they recognize me WITH the glasses. Also, my little niece, Jordan, who is about 6 months old, she looked at me long and hard yesterday, until she finally gave me her big ol smile, LOL! My cats, well they could care less, just as long as the food train does not stop, haha. ;o)
My sister had that surgery and she is very happy with the results.
Be careful how much time you spend on the computer they told her not to get on one a for a week, that was tough for her. She had trouble with the night thing to but that seems better now. She loves not wearing glasses even thou she only wore them for 2 yrs me I am not a candidate. wearing glasses since age 3 so I can relate how one must feel throwing them out and the freedom you must feel.
