When I lived in Chicago, I lived close enough to walk to my elementary school (as well as many other things).
Imagine my shock after moving to IN where I could walk to NOTHING. Bus to school, no playgrounds nearby, no pools nearby, etc. I was most unhappy with my parents!
However, I did survive (never missed my bus), though I still wish Indy was more walkable/bikeable even 28yrs after moving here!
I'm a worrier, just like you, Debbie....and I come from a long line of worriers. My mom (a bazillion years ago) embroidered a sign for me that hung by the back door..."Today is the tomorrow that worried you yesterday, and all is well". My mom also said when my oldest was born, "You'll never go through another day without worrying about him and saying a little prayer for him"...you know she was absolutely right!!!
I'm so glad everything went so well, and I'm sure it'll continue.
