Too Smart--Part two

Mama T on Health - Thu, August 07 2008

He's become way to smart for me to deal with. I've been giving him a benadryl for his allergies. Genius that I am, I put PB on a biscuit with the tablet on it. He wouldn't take it. I tossed it to him thinking he would catch it. He let it hit the floor, Peanut butter and all. He sniffs it, picks it up....eats the peanut butter and the biscuit except for the piece that had the pill on it. That he left laying in the floor and walked out of the room.

But Mama is no dummy....cheese ball this morning with the pill inside, it was not even noticed.

I think Deuce and ETB are related. There have been times that I wrap a benadryl in cheese and think that Deuce has eaten the whole thing only to find the pill, uneaten, on the floor. I've even seen him spit it out of his mouth after he sucks the cheese off it. It works better for me to wrap the pill in lunchmeat. He pretty much just swallows that whole!

Aren't those doggie noses something? I've completely given up trying to hide medicine. Mine don't like being tricked, and would rather I just give it to them.

I'm cracking up!! ETB really needs his own reality show. He could go around and visit the other IndyPaws dogs! Maybe Jersey Joe could star in it too. It could be "Hounds on the Town" or something like that. :) I'm telling you, I would get my cable reinstalled to watch that! :)

This really made me laugh....you know the show, "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?"......well, we could start a new one, "Are you smarter than ETB?" Sorry, but that's the first thing that came to mind and made me laugh out loud.

Each week I would look at the camera and say--I'm not smarter than ETB.

Pardon me, ETB's Mama, but ETB will soon learn that chunky cheese is just as yucky as chunky peanut butter. Mom has to rotate my sneak attacks on me or I will lick off the good stuff and leave the yucky stuff behind. I'm a master. (ps: if ETB needs any lessons on hidden tricks Mom's try, let me know).

Wow, maybe he and Eddie are related. I've given Eddie pills mixed in w/ his food, w/ bacon, w/ ham, and he ALWAYS eats everything but the pill. I've now resorted to just shoving it down his throat, which sounds horrible, but it's the only way I can get him to take it.

Once I found a benadryl pill in my shoe thanks to Freckles. And this was a girl that didn't think twice about eating anything.

Maybe you've tried this but my mom used to trick me by giving me a lump of PB with no pill then a lump right after with the pill. Its quite possible that I'm not as smart as ETB though.

All our pills come in cheese. We gulp them down and don't even notice. What about putting it in a piece of hot dog? I think I would like that for a change.
