I'm so sorry. Anytime you want to come over and hang out, just call. I almost picked up the phone just now when I read this, but if you're sleeping I don't want to wake you. I think this calls for a Long-Island Night! If you're not into that, we can buy about 15 or 20 pints of Ben & Jerry and see which we like best!
My friends only concern is that he doesn't go to church. And one of those friends just married a man who's on his third marriage now with her. And he's gone to church his whole life. It reeks of hypocrisy to me.
If that's their only reason, then it does sound lame. You're the one that has to decide how important that is to you. My ex wouldn't go without a fuss and it was always distressing to me. I'm really surprised that my sister in law married a guy that doesn't go to church. Their family is so involved in their church but I guess she thought that his love was more important than him going to church. I hate people that get all holier than thou when they are harboring their own dark sides. I used to work with a girl that wanted to go on and on about what a great Christian she was but she was such a b**ch! What would Jesus do-probably not be a hateful b*tch!
Girl, you made me laugh out loud!!! :)
Or how about Ice Cream Drinks? I think they still make things like Pink Squirrels and such. BTW, I am 55, so I could be old enough to be yo mama, silly girl. It's just a number, and most days I like myself a whole lot better now than I did when I was younger. It's only Tuesday and your week will either get better or worse, but we will still be here for you either way. Many hugs and kisses coming your way.
Aunt Kris, please come over with Mama Muttblood so we can eat Pink Squirrels!!
Mama Deuce--We're sorry about your Uncle. Mama says 40 is the new 30 (cause she'll be their in 2 yrs) Sorry about the boyfriend but remember....men will come and go but Deuce will love you forever and won't care if you stay in your PJ's all day and eat Peanut butter from the jar (as long as you share) Puppy love coming at you-ETB
Kris: I read the other day that today's 50 is yesterday's 40, so if that's true, you'll be back to 30!! I was 56 this spring and have my moments after marathon gardening when I feel my age, but it's all a state of mind and just a number. It's been tough around here with 1 kid moving to CA, the baby headng off to college and the 3rd being somewhat estranged; the nest is empty! Thank Dog for corgis. You've got your "kids" who are loyal, loving and fun - so who needs a man. I'm sorry for your troubles.
I've dated my share of church-going guys, and believe me, just because they go to church does not mean they are Christians. Wolf in sheep's clothing.
I am SO sorry to hear about all of this happening at the same time. When you turn 40 (and I'm right behind you-- next March), look at it as a new beginning, a fresh start.
If you need anything, let me know! I am always available! I think the other gals had a great idea- drinks and ice cream!
I'm glad that you're feelin' better....and very sorry about your uncle and the ex. I know that it seems sometimes the pain of breaking up will never go away, but I also know that all things grow a little dimmer with time...a teensy weensy bit. Wish I were closer for that drinks and ice cream thingy. The one thing that doesn't go away is the memory of the sickly hangover that pink squirrels gave me 35 years ago..which if you figure up how old I am, you'll be feelin' a whole lots better about 40, or 50 even.....haha....have a happy, you deserve THE best...just ask your furkids.
