Dad broke my bowl!

Cocoa Puff on Grief - Sun, August 03 2008

I'm so sad. We were going to Grandpa's for Friday/Saturday while Mom and Dad did Relay for Life so we had to take our bowls with us. I had the most beautiful pink heart shaped bowl. Mom bought it for me after I was adopted so I could have my very own pretty girly bowl. She wanted me to know how much she loved me all the time. Even while I was eating, I could see the heart and know they loved me. Well, dad was carrying out our food and bowls and mine was sitting on top because it's not round like the others. He opened the door and my bowl fell off and hit the ground. A piece came off the side but he was going to fix it with super glue. Then mom looked at it and realized the whole thing was cracked so she had to throw it away. Now I'm eating out of a cereal bowl:-( Mom says maybe we can go shopping today to find a new pretty bowl. Has anybody seen a great BFF food bowl anywhere? Dad said we should get one for Sweetie too since hers is round and metal but mom says she's spent enough $$ on a dog that doesn't even live with us. Wish me luck on my new bowl hunt. I really miss my pretty pink heart shaped bowl.

Mom saw some really pretty ones at Moochie & Co that you might like. Don't know if your Mom is crafty but they have these paint your own pottery places. Mom likes to go there so she made me my own bowl with my name on it and stuff. Maybe your Mom could do that? Then it'd be extra special since she made it just for you!

Patches broke my bowl. The stupid girl thought it would be a good idea to jump on the counter and knock it off in order to get mom to feed us sooner. Didn't work! We had to wait LONGER since mom had a mess to clean up.

My mom painted a set of round bowls for me. They both have a stick figure doxie on the bottom. The water bowl has my name on it and the food bowl says "All Gone" on the bottom. Mom saw some cool little bowls at Petco. She wanted to get a new bowl for Tilly but realized that dog eats a ton of food...and the bowl has to be narrow and deep to keep her gigantic snout in and her gigantic ears out.

I'd suggest your mom going to one of the pottery places and have her make you an original BFF bowl. My mom made all of the kitties their very own bowls but we dogs have store bought ones. Mine actually came from Mama M's Petlane products and it has a matching paisley place mat. Maybe mom can make me my own BFF bowl....

Mom saw some pretty bowls at Moochie and Com. yesterday. They weren't cheap though.

I am posting this under duress. I'm a RED dog, and don't go well with pink. Anyway, here's a link to a really cute pink bowl. http://www.muttropolis.com/products2.cfm/ID/5002/name/Skid-Free-Dancing-Bones-Dog-Bowl It's even shatter proof, and comes in multiple sizes. Oh yeah, for all of those BFF's out there, they have a whole section dedicated to pink.

My bowl look like cut glass, but it's plastic....it's a good thing too as dad has stepped on it a few times. Of course, that's his fault for not picking it up.

Just an FYI---plastic food and especially water bowls are not healthy for pets if used on a long term basis. They can leach chemicals from the plastic into your animals. Ceramic, porcelain, metal are all best. If you are just using them for travel bowls or on a short term basis, plastic is okay.
