digging help

Stephanie on Activities - Wed, July 30 2008

I just got off the phone with a trainer and she suggested that I buy a big container of black pepper(NEVER use red or any other type, this is not good for them) and sprinkle it in every digging hole . Hopefully when they keep going to holes that they hate the pepper they will not like digging. She said the root of the problem is that they are bored stiff. Since I have pointers she suggested scent games. Take tiny pieces of hot dogs or cheese and hide them around the yard. I just did this and they are really enjoying it . I have also read of scents you can buy and track around the yard on your shoes , I am trying that next. I get bored easily so I am feeling bad about my pointer girls . Mom has to step up !Here is a great site for games to play with your dogs:http://flyingdogpress.com/scntgame.html
