YIKES!!! That is the bug that Mom and her friends saw on the front door at work last week! Those things are creepy, but the sites about them say that they rarely sting. I'm telling you, that thing was like a wasp on steroids, about 2 inches long and Mom wasn't even sure it was a wasp, but Kirby just confirmed it for us. Mom hates bees. xoxo C

Mom LOVEs those critters. They are VERY non agressive and kill cicadas - among other insects. Mom won't let me chase them or anything.

That's them!! Thanks for the information. Well...to us they sound really mean. Mom is allergic to wasps so she better be careful around them.
It's good to know that they are non aggressive...but I won't bother them to see if they really are.

WEIRD that this got posted tonight! Last night I was sitting outside with Oscar and all of a sudden there was this HUGE looking wasp...thats definitely what it was! It was the first time I'd ever seen one! I too looked it up on wikipedia...they are scary as heck! The stinger is huuuuge!

We had one yesterday and mom yelled at me when I tried to go after it. Guess it's a good thing since we didn't know what it was at the time.
