Pom Posse is always looking for foster homes on CL. Here's a link to their site http://www.pomposse.org/ You might want to stress to him that it might take a little while to find just the right dog but it will be worth it since the dog will be with them for so many years. I'm glad he's thinking about adopting at least. Here's a link to Poms on Petfinder http://www.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?animal=Dog&breed=Pomeranian&preview=1&exact=1 and here's one for Yorkies http://www.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?animal=Dog&breed=Yorkshire%20Terrier%20Yorkie&preview=1&exact=1 As far as rescues go, I would definitely make sure they are legitimate. Check guidestar.com for 501ce status, google the rescue's name to check for articles, etc. I personally love the Petite Paws group. They're all great and work so hard for all dogs. REscue Farm also has both breeds right now and I LOVE them!
Here is a link to the one I saw yesterday.

We got Ringo from Smaller Paws & Pom Rescue in North Manchester. Jo Norris is WONDERFUL, and runs the rescue out of her home. They primarily take in Poms, but also have other small-breed dogs. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/IN294.html
I made sure to stress that finding the right rescue dog might take a little time. HE knows that but is working on getting his wife to understand that.
Thanks guys! I knew I could count on you all!
For anyone you know who is interested in rescuing but wants a specific breed, check out this list of resources a group of us put together on Dogster.
