IACC adoption event

Stacy on Activities - Sat, July 26 2008

We had to pack up early at the adoption event. It was sooo hot out, and all the dogs were just spent. We had ice and things for them, but you could tell they were getting pretty miserable out there. I apologize to anyone who came out and missed us! We packed up around 4:30 instead of 6:00 like I had said before. We were able to send one big black dog home!! We also talked to a LOT of people about adoption. Some said they were interested in adopting but were going on vacation, etc. Hopefully, those people will visit the shelter later and save a life!

Black dogs in this heat today wouldn't be a good combo. You did the right thing by packing up early. Hopefully those interested people will come back for adoptions!!

We missed it because we are in quarantine. And mom promised dad she'd stop frequenting Target 3x week, regardless of location. The woman can't get enough of Target.

I was going to drop by after adoptions but I couldn't remember where you were☺ Hey, I have your new foster assignment should you choose to accept it(and I hope you will). Jim is taking 5 kittens (8-10 weeks old) to be spayed soon. Their owners are 91 and 94 and their cat had kittens. They will need a place to hang out after surgery because the owners have let them run loose outside. Wags is going to post them but they need a foster and you're the first person I thought of. How lucky is that?

Well, these aren't all going back to the shelter yet because a few of them still have runny noses! I've been cleaning, medicating, cleaning and medicating some more, so I don't know why they're not completely well yet. Several of them are fine and are probably going back to the shelter, but I know at least 3 are still a tad bit sick. Some of them have to go back tomorrow because they are getting big and outgrowing the area I have them in!
