Stray German Shepherd

Kelly on Lost Pets - Tue, July 15 2008

Earlier this evening, I saw a stray German Shepherd. My neighbor has had it a couple days, it's a female, not even a year old, and they found it here in Irvington. It was haulin a$$ down Kenmore, it also jumped into my new VAN, which MIKEY was IN!!!!! To say the least, I was not pleased, nor was Mike, LOL. As Mikey and her were kinda sorta trying to go at each other (I think she was just scared, and saw an open car door and jumped in, but Mikey took it as she was attacking him, I think. I had to kinda shove her back a few times until she took off, that was before the neighbor could get up to grab her)The neighbor has been running adds, but no one had claimed her, and says she's a nice dog.I think the poor thing was just spooked. Anyhow, she was heading north, towards the Pleasant Run Golf Course. If anyone is missing a GSD, or knows of someone here in Irvington who is, it may be her. She was wearing a collar, but no tags, and not chipped. :(

I haven't heard anything about a missing dog in that area. But that is quite a bizarre story and I am glad you and Mikey are okay!

why oh why do people not at least put tags on the collars! When we were doing the microchipping a few weeks ago as a fund raiser, I could not believe how many people said, "Oh, I don't need that, my dog never gets out."

We saw her too on Ridgeview! She tried to follow me and my mom but we had the mini biped with us and mom shooed her away. Me thinks she wants some biped love!!!

Because they are stupid and might not even deserve to have dogs. If you have ever rescued one without a tag, you know how very difficult it is to reunite that poor dog with its human. The ones I found on July 4th had both ID tags and chip tags. They were back home within about 2 hours. Without those, who knows how long it would have taken.

Did she look anything like this one (http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/pet/755666923.html)? It's a long shot, but possible.

Nope, not the same dog. This one was a full blooded GSD, a sable. Very pretty. I would bet anything that it's the one Riggs saw. Hey Riggs, do you live in my neighborhood????? We need to hang out sometime!!! Are you the basset that we hear across the alley on Ridgeview????
