Fast Forward, Please

Carolina on My Blog - Tue, July 08 2008

I'm done with July, can we fast forward to next month?

So far it's been nothing but thunder booms and firework booms. Our neighbors must have spent a fortune on fireworks because every night right around potty-time, it's snap, crackle, wheeeee! BANG! pop! and KA-BOOOOM! It's been like, a week! I'm not even counting it in dog-years! Fast Forward, please!

Speaking of years, my mom turned another year older. She's not thrilled. She says the gifts and cake are necessary to prevent her from being depressed about her age.

So to cheer her up, Dad and I took her for a long drive down to Brown Co., went to a huge park and you'll never guess... Guess! We met Perl!!! and Beauregard!!!! and their peeps! Mom recognized their names and got all giddy and told them who I was...so we all sniffed butts and it was great!

THEN when we got home, there was a gift for me, too! There was a chipmunk in our HAV-A-HART trap! But Mom said it wasn't for me...she's getting mean in her old-age. She went an' released it in a big field near a nature park. Crazy lady. The fun I could have had...sigh.

Anyway, today, in the midst of Mom's mid-life crisis she went and cut off all her hair to donate to Locks of Love. Now, she's in the corner in the fetal position telling herself it will grow back. Wuss. Who wants the fast forward button, now?

Well, in a few days we are heading out for our 10+ hour drive to Virginia. Would love to fast forward through the drive...even with plenty of stops for me, it's not alot of fun watching the world go by for hours and hours. Fast Forward, please.

Anywho, don't know if we'll be on much during the next two and half weeks, but we'll take lots and lots of pictures!

Love,
Carolina

I'm over the boom fear. Mom got me to actually think they're good things. Go figure.

Give your mom lots of cuddles & kisses to help her through her birthday. What a great thing to do with her hair.

Enjoy your trip, and tell us all about it when you get back.

The booms don't bother me quite as much as the heat. I poop out 10 minutes into my walks any more these days!

Oh, Woo, I know you're hair must look fabulous cut short, and think of what nice thing you did to donate it !! You are so beautiful anyway, and having a birthday is a wonderful thing, another year more lovely, another year more sweet, another year wiser!! Carolina, just curl up next to Mommy in fetal position and keep her close to you so that she will unfold at some point tonight and return to her body. Have lots of fun on your road trip and we will watch for you to return! We'll miss you!! xoxo Mimi

Mama said your mama is very special to have done that with her bootiful hair. And Happy Berfday late to her too. Mama said it's what's inside that really counts anyways! Your mama's the BEST! Have a great vacation too, Carolina! Anxious to see the pix.

I'm not a fan of those booms too and they could just move on out anytime soon.

My Mom donated to LoL too -- 2 tails of 13" each! So that shocker of hair today, gone tomorrow... my Mom has done it too!

Have fun in Virginia and be safe. I'm going camping (boarding)in a few days. Daddy and I think it'll be fun but Mom's not so sure. I've been getting extra attention this week due to Mom's guilt.

Well, I'm WAY older than you, and here to tell you that it can be survived. I think I'm actually a better, more fun person as I have aged. Others might disagree ☺ What you did for someone else is the most wonderful, selfless thing, and your hair WILL grow back. You have my admiration!

Miss Woo, we get to go to Virginia in August. I don't know what Virginia and August are, but mom sounds excited, so I guess it will be good! Maddie has gone on long car trips before, but I have not. When you go on your long car ride will you wear your harness or ride in your crate?

Sorry you're having such a bunk month, Carolina. We hope your trip to Virginia is relaxing. Ma says to say "Holla!" to VA for her! Do you guys take the AA? Ma says that was always a nice way to go. Oh, and your ma's hair WILL grow back, just as pretty as it was before.

What's the AA? We're taking a northerly route, heading into Fairfax,VA first then onto Richmond then back to Fairfax and then back to Indy. And, yes, I will give a "shout-out" when I cross the VA border.

Sorry for the drama about the hair. I donated 10", but after the stylist evened-up the ends and stuff, it was a lot shorter than I had anticipated. I just need to get used to it and start actually "styling" my hair again.

Thanks everyone for all your good wishes.

Sydney, you're so silly! I can't drive in a crate! I have to wear a harness, it's the law. Carolina gets her own harness, too. This will be the first big trip with a harness for her...It needs to get here soon.

When you get to VA will you be going to the beach? I'm so jealous if you are. I need to squeeze one more day so that we can go to the beach.

Miss Woo, we are going to someplace called William's house, I think. It's a really old town, mom says, and the people who live there wear funny old clothing. Mom and dad's human daughter works there at Mr. Busch's Gardens training wolves...eek! I hope I don't have to meet any of them. I heard mom tell dad that she wanted to take her girls to the ocean since we would be close, but I don't know what that is. Maddie said it is big water. If it is I'm not so hot about doing that. Maybe I can stay on dry land. Some new guy who is joining the family next year rides IN the water on big ships with a bunch of other people. No dogs, though. He's in the Naviary.
