Ouch! Canoe Trip

Marci on Activities - Sun, July 06 2008

I'm SORE. Not only did I paddle a canoe around (with a LOT of help) for 3 hours, but I had the opportunity to haul in two soaking wet 45 lb dogs (one in a panic). To top it off, when Charlie got snarky, I slipped on the gravel, bashed my knee on the gravel, and landed pretty hard on my bum (but I did keep ahold of the dog). Needless to say, at this point, I'm tired. Then, I went to get into the car and promptly hit my chin on the corner of the car door.

That being said, we actually had a pretty good time. We're all off to take a nap now since we're beat (some of us more literally than others)!

Yowsa! That sounds like torture. Glad you had a good time despite all the injuries!

My goodness! I'm glad you made it home safely. Sounds like fun, even with the mishaps, though!

We did a 4 hour kayak trip down Sugar Creek and for the first time I went overboard. I got caught sideways at a log jam and when I tried to get out the current caught the kayak and flipped it. Luckily, I was wearing my lifejacket. We managed to save everything. Took a LONG time to get the kayak out of the log jam as it filled with water. I was shaking so hard though. It was much scarier than I thought it would be.
