I'm a foster mom!!

Stacy on Activities - Thu, July 03 2008

I picked up two litters of kittens today from the Humane Society of Hamilton County. I have a total of 8 kittens!! They have upper respiratory infections, so I have to give them a pill in the morning and evening. They're sooo adorable!! I'll try to get some pics up later. It's been a really busy day!!

Kittens are sooo cute and playful. What do the Girls think about them?

Aw, I'm jealous! Kittens would never make it in our house, or else there would be a couple running around here too. Good luck with them, and I definitely want to see some pictures.

Mom won't let us see them. We sure did sniff the boxes they came in though!! Dad spent a good deal of time in the garage building stuff for them to play on. He covered it with carpet and rope for scratching. He and mom stayed in the bathroom and played with those kittens for about an hour tonight! Ridiculous! Dad was supposed to be building some agility equipment for me! Minnie and I did get some big biscuits from Pet Supplies Plus though, so I shouldn't complain. Mom wouldn't have had to go there if it weren't for those kittens. I guess if they make her go to Pet Supplies Plus more often, that might be OK.

Nope! Biscuits don't make up for mom time, and my mom put me in my crate to go play with those kittens. That is NOT right!! I'm going to forgive her, but I really don't like this. I barked a bunch of times to let her know I didn't appreciate being crated so she could play with kittens!

Wow, nothing like jumping in with both feet! That's a lot of sick kitties. Let me know if you need some help especially with giving meds. I'm off until Monday. Good luck with them. They're lucky to have you.

Lady, have you lost your ever lovin' mind? Eight sick kitties? Poor Bev and Minnie. They will need some extra Cesaring and WB's pizza.

Mom says that you rock! Thanks for taking care of the little guys. How long will you have them?

I'm not sure how long they'll be here. I forgot to ask that! They have a week's worth of meds, so at least a week. I'm going to call the shelter tomorrow and see what they have planned. They are pretty full, so they may want me to keep them until they free up some space.

Wow....8?! Like Monica said, nothig like jumping in with both feet. Did they give you pills or liquid meds? The first time we had sick kitties they gave us pills and it was a PITA to get the pills down. The next time we had kittens that were much younger and they gave us liquid meds...MUCh easier! From then on we always asked for liquid meds. Anyway, good luck! Kitties are soooo much fun to have around!

They're pills and I have to cut them in 1/4s! They are a PITA! I was just telling Bev's dad I wish they had given me liquid. Most of the kittens are up running around. I have one who doesn't play as much as the others and his eyes seem a little swollen. I'm calling the shelter tomorrow to see if they want to take a look at him. He comes out of the crate and loves to be held and loved, but he's not quite as spunky as the others. Other than a sneeze and runny nose here and there, you wouldn't know the others are sick. They run around like banshees!!
