sweet potato chew update

Casey on Nutrition - Tue, July 01 2008

Well dad, a.k.a the dog cookie guy, made his sweet tator chews. Not too bad I like'm. My pack mate Bert wasn't real crazy about them but he ate them that goofy guy will eat anything. Guess that comes with living on the road like he did. Anyway 1/4 inch thick round slices 110 degrees for about 6-7 hours in a real dehydrator. Not one of those wimpy round things. A electric oven might work too on the lowest setting, laid out on a screen so air can circulate. Then leave the door open just a crack. Dry till they become leathery. Don't tell dad I told you how to make them, he hates to give out recipes. He said we're going to make some fry size for the little ones. Bet I get to try those out too!

YUM! We don't have a dehydrator but we do have ye ol electric oven! :) Thanks so much for giving us the secret recipe, Casey. We'll keep it on the down low!

Casey, you're just like Duke (Bush's beans dog) handing out secrets!
