I haven't even taken her on any walks, just in our back yard. I'm just scared some dog will sniff her and come running up to us and lord knows what else. Her spay was on the 9th too, but FACE called and asked if they could reschedule for the 8th cause they had too many dogs that day.
When you say "two weeks after her heat ended" do you mean two weeks after the bleeding stops?
Most dog heats last about 3 weeks- week to week-and-a-half of red discharge, then the same of lighter, wheat colored. They will only let a male dog breed them when they are ready (about 10 days after the bleeding starts). The uterus is full of fluid and blood vessels much bigger, so increased risk to spay when in heat. Plus the body loses all the fluid and blood with the uterus, so a little shock to the system. Wating 3-4 weeks after the bleeding starts is best for the spay.
