Plant Party Postponed

Lynn on Activities - Sat, June 28 2008

Due to the 60% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening we are post poning the plant party. I'd feel much better knowing that everyone's safe and inside if the weather turns nasty. If anyone's interested maybe we could try again next Sat.?

Next Saturday works for me. Let's hope the forecast is a little more friendly!

I just said the same thing to Jerry-now that it's been postponed-look at the sun and no clouds anywhere. Oh well, you know how Indiana weather is. Next Saturday is the day after the 4th of July so I'm not sure if people will be out of town or not.

Is it still ok to come if I don't have any plants to offer? Next Sat. works best for me too. I had other plans today so i wouldn't have been able to make it. Maybe look into the shelter you were talking about if its avaliable. see everyone next week hopefully.

absolutely fine to come without plants. Lynn had suggested that those without plants bring some sort of inexpensive treat to share(cookies, lemonade, etc). It's meant for a fun IP meet and greet so no exclusions:-)

Sorry, guys once our afternoon opened up Izzy, Titus and I sacked out for a nap. Everyone's welcome bring family and friends. If I'd been on the ball I would have suggested this right after all the flooding. Plant parties that I've been to in the past were just a group of friends getting together to swap plants and gardening tips. Everyone would write their names down on slips of paper and take turns going to pick out a plant. Then once all the plants have been claimed you have the plants' care as an ice breaker to meet and chat with someone new. I thought $5 per person wouldn't be too much to ask and no one would feel like their being jipped because everyone's going home w/ a new plant and we can help a cause that's near and dear to all our hearts...animal welfare. I have Golden raspberry starts coming out our ears, ivy that's taking over the front flowerbed and a few catnip sprouts that Jordan hasn't managed to kill yet. Please don't go out and spend money on something to bring...if you don't have any plants bring a refreshment to share with the group. I was going to make a jug of iced tea. We have plenty of plastic cups so I'll bring some of those and can pick up a couple bags of ice for drinks. I'm babbleing and should really consider switching to decaf. Hope to meet everyone next weekend. I'm off to watch Carlin on SNL.
