Anxiety?

Nicholas James on Behavior - Thu, June 26 2008

I am not sure if the flooding incident in our basement has me worked up or what, but I was acting very anxious last night.

Usually when I have a rawhide, I will walk around with it and whine a little bit in search of a good hiding place. Well, last night instead of the rawhide, I had my toy dog (the big long one, like in the Petsmart commercial...) I was walking around with it last night, whining so loud I woke up Mom.

She thought the basement was flooding again so she got up and checked, but everything was fine. Maybe I was freaked out by the trauma of the basement flooding earlier that day. For whatever reason, I simply could not sleep. Mom had to lay with me and pet me until I finally fell asleep.

Any of you ever experience anything like this?

um, NJ, welcome to my world. I have been one anxious pup for quite some time... Mom's on top of it now and we work on me all the time. Mom uses a HUGE combo of stuff: calming music, leaving the TV on during the day, my prozac, lots of walks or treadmills, quiet moments, and LOTS of love from Mom.
