I totally find this to be true, especially with my cat Suki, who lives with my mom. When I visit, she gets so affectionate when I start talking to her.

We love to hear mom call our names! We come running, usually it means a treat, of course. It's so true that we love to be talked to. All three of us purr and snuggle.
