Rabbit Underground

Perl on Laws - Tue, June 24 2008

Beauregard and I have just flushed out a major terrorist cell. Rabbits have been living under the yard barn (or "castle" as Beau calls it) but they have been dispersed. The squirrels had been conspicuous by their absence, and now we know why. So increased vigilance, soldiers. Be on the lookout for puffy-tailed rodents.

See, Beau, I told you that a wiener dog was what we needed to get under there ...

Apparently the terrorists are doing some surveillance because I too have seem them creeping around…the infidels are hiding right behind my house in the woods as if I wouldn’t be aware of their presence! Sometimes I just catch a quick glimpse before they disappear. AND they have they nerve to chomp on Mom’s flowers AS IF I would be able to detect their stench! Be alert friends!

There are rabbits under our barn too! I've been digging a tunnel to get to them. Can I have a weiner dog for awhile?

There is no way I'm going under a barn or shed to look for anything. Sorry, I'm too girlie for that stuff. I might chip a nail.

I've been under our new yard castle several times, including while it was being painted. There is SOMETHING under there that I must get at. I can go all the way under and through on the other side if I work at it real hard.

The yard castle must be a favorite rendezvous for these rodent terrorists. I, too, have detected something under our yard barn and have been unable to get to it. Where are all those dachsaholic dogs when you need them?

Hmmmm, yard castle. We have one but I've only seen one rabbit and it was sent on its way. I have seen MANY squirrels lately, more than normal. I will keep a look out for the returning rabbits. Glad the weiner dog has become useful.

I think the squirrels are a misunderstood breed of animals. I personally know two of the finest squirrels in my neighborhood. They mean no harm. They eat the corn my mama puts out there for them and on occasion, we all play run and chase through my backyard! Of course, maybe that's the difference between the small town squirrel and the big city ones? I know I'm just a visitor of IndyPaws, but I thought I'd put my two cents in about this issue. Oh, did somebody say dig?? I love digging!

that's where they used to hide in my yard too -- even having their babies there -- until we got a fence. Now, I rarely get any bunnies in my yard.

Lola, don't fight it, it's in your nature, you'll see.

They have not dare come into my yard. Those squirrels have tried using my back fence as a safe route past me, but I have a secret weapon, my older sister can jump up to the top of the fence which is 6 feet tall. One tried to tease me but payed the price by losing some fur off its tale thanks to my older sister. As soon as dad is able to we will start patroling my area for those who wants to ruin are peaceful county. Good hunting my patriots.
