Penny--foster dog update

Kris on My Blog - Tue, June 10 2008

You'll have to read my other post that I wrote last night around 10:45 PM to get the other part of this story. After I cleaned up the poop and we went to bed, of course it started storming. I had Penny in a crate in my room and Deuce and Francie were in bed with me as usual. Let's just say Penny managed to get out of her crate (it wasn't the large one that Mama Muttblood loaned me. It was a smaller, Nylabone crate) and jumped up in bed with us. So there we were, me and the three dogs, in bed. I was in the middle, Penny was on my right, Francie was on my left, and Deuce was under the sheet curled up in the crook of my leg. Somehow we managed to sleep like that until aroud 4:30am. Penny needed to go out, so we all got up and went outside (Penny won't go outside without me). We went back to bed, got up at 6:15 and things were normal. I put Penny in the big crate while I walked Deuce and Francie. Then I walked Penny and she did really well on the leash--she peed and pottied on the walk. Everyone ate breakfast and life was good! Before I left for work, I babygated Penny in my office, just because I didn't want her peeing and pooping all over the house while I was at work. But I didn't want to put her in the crate either. I stopped at home on my way back from a client meeting. It was around 12:30. She had pushed the gate out of the doorway and was just running around. I walked into my bedroom and there were three pee accident spots and one poop accident...all in close vicinity to where last night's poop explosion happened. Let's just say I no longer have an aversion to putting her in the crate! We all went outside, where Penny attempted to squeeze through a 6-8 inch gap in the fence (got her head and middle of her torso through before I caught her). Everyone peed and then I put Penny in the crate, cleaned up the mess as best I could and left. She didn't tear anything up, just had bladder/bowel accidents. At least I know there won't be that kind of mess when I get home this afternoon!

Monica and Jerry, how are Lefty and Bubba doing? Did you two get any sleep? Did Sweet Tart have fun with them?

They are SO cute! Lefty looks like my old cocker girl Sache. What a combo --- lab / cocker. Betcha they'll be laid back big paws. Cute! Mom said it's a good thing that we have current Roo issues or she'd have to push Daddy in this direction.

Oh my!! They sure are cute! Penny is very beautiful too. I bet there won't be any problems getting all 3 of them adopted.
