A lot of roads are closed, Maverick. We heard that I65 was closed near Edinburg but it is open the rest of the way. US 31 is completly closed down there. Emerson has spots of closings near Southport BUT those not too smart people are driving around the blocks. We live up by you and there is a lot of flooding but it has gone down a lot since this morning. Be safe!
OMG! I've always wanted to move to Parke County. That's my favorite part of Indiana. I guess I should be thankful I don't live there right now. I hope your family is all OK, Connie.
Mom says everyone is fine. She was actually at her business when I talked to her trying to find two kittens that someone dumped out there. She found one, but can't find the other one, but she can hear it. She is worried they will get wet if she can't find them. You see, my love for animals is genetic!
She was having a hard time catching the kitten she could find. It would come just within reach of her finger tips, then run. I told her I would come over on Sunday if she couldn't get them and help, but now I'm not sure I could get there. I hate to think of what the water looks like in Raccoon Lake right now. I just saw they had to evacuate the hospital in Columbus. So, south and west of Indy got hit bad, that's for sure.
I live on the south side of indy....basically grwd. Mom & dad went to walmart today which is normally just a 10min drive but they had to turn around because of high water about 5 times. It took them about 30min to get there. Also we live in a waterfront apt. complex and alot of our neighborhood was underwater. I got to go splash around in it after most of the water resided. In the process of doing so I found a craw-fish. It was trying to get me! No water damage to us personally. though.
We hope everyone stays safe and dries out. Our grandma and grandpa made it home safe yesterday from Owen County but it sounded really bad. Guess I won't be going to the farm to swim for a while. Grandpa said it was the worst he's ever seen it and he must be like a thousand in dog years. Most of the roads were flooded in Owen and Clay counties yesterday. Hopefully the water is going down today. Everyone be careful!
