We also have a closet under our stairs that we head to. It's plenty of room for Erin, Titus and I. I've never been able to get a hold of the cats when the weather gets that bad.

Last week when those storms hit, we were at Kenny's house and he has a basement. We also have a basement at our new house, and I'm very thankful for that! We'll be at Kenny's again tonight and I'm hoping the storms don't hit us. Be safe everyone!

Our pantry is under our stairs but we can't walk in it right now....kinda messy. We have gone to the downstairs bathroom with all of the furkids and my terrified daughter. She's supposed to be at a sleepover tonight but I have a feeling she'll be coming home bfore it gets bad.

Really, I was in the basement with Deuce and Francie and was trying to sleep. He was upstairs with his kids watching a movie. No romance when the kids are around!!!

We go to the bath tub. Mom has a bag packed and ready to take with us. Of course she has Andy's ashes too. When I hear the sirens and mom puts my harness on me, I know something is up.

We go to our basement. It's HUGE. Sheila trys to go to the tub, but its an outside room with a window. Mom cut her off. Do you know who hard it is to get a 45 lb dog out of a sleigh tub when she really doesn't want to come out? Mom's started locking her out of the bathroom. Last time mom had to get her out to go downstairs, she snarled - at mom!!!!

When the sirens go off the cats, husband and I all go in the bathroom. Last time the cats were the ones in the bathtub the safest place there, and we were just sitting on the floor. I have smart cats.

We have a HUGE basement...unfortunately 2 of my dogs reuse to go down the steps. So it is a treat trying to carry/drag a 120# and 80# dog down the steps. Last week I was working at my part time job at Meijer when the storms blew though and we closed the store and took all the customers to the back "safe zones" for about 30 minutes. It was really weird, but our store is right off I65 so we had a couple of people with dogs that helped keep the kids entertained.
