Poop Ponder

Sarah on My Blog - Thu, May 29 2008

When the weather gets warm, I love to work in the yard. Of course, I always pick up after my dogs because there is nothing worse than stepping in poop or running it over with your lawn mower wheel, so you can smell it for the next 30 minutes.

However, there is always that pile that gets overlooked and then you step in it ... no matter how careful you are.

So, my question is ... how is it possible that a dog never steps in its own poop. My dogs can be rolling around in the grass or running around like crazy and never come in contact with poop. And then I just take a little step, and it's "oh $hit" for me.

And have you ever wondered where all the dirt goes when a dog digs a big hole in the back yard? It seems to me that there should be a huge mound of dirt that you could simply shovel back into the hole, but there's no dirt! Yet another dog-owner mystery . . .

I step in poop, occassionally. Kirby has a habit of pooping along the fence. Well, that is my patrol route. When I'm on duty, I don't pay attention to where Im stepping. Hence...I step in Kirby's poo. I never bring it in the house though. Odd.

That's a great question! It's just one of the oddities of life, I guess.
