Sleepless Night

Boomer on My Blog - Tue, June 12 2007

Last night was not fun to say the least. Dad went to bed around 10:30, and for some reason, I still wanted to play fetch and chase after twenty minutes of play. Considering that I was still in play form was a rarity. But, as Dad was going to bed he mentioned that it may be best for me to go as JP, his roommate, to play. However, I don't really like to play with JP because, well, he just doesn't play like Dad. So, instead I decided to explore his room. I checked out his clothes, his bed, and even his music and DVDs. (He has CATS...odd for a Harley driver and sports fanatic...but I won't judge because I like the show.) After a time JP came in to go to bed. He set his alarm, closed the door, and hit his bed and pillows like a brick. I didn't mind, because that just gave me more time to explore. Once I was finsihed, I decided to go and sleep on JP's bed for a time. However, around 2 AM I needed to make a litter call. However, the door was shut. You would think that JP could spot me, a black and white cat, in the dead of night before going to bed....I know I could! Regardless, he shut the door on me and now I'm stuck needing to go to the bathroom. So, I went to the door and meowed, meowed, meowed, and meowed some more in hopes to wake either Dad or JP. However, Dad was well into deep sleep and JP could sleep through nuclear disasters. So, I did the next best thing. Between hopping on JP, wiggling my tail in his face, pawing his head, kneeding his arm nothing worked. It usually works for Dad, but this time on JP no effect. That man can sleep! Regardless, I still needed to go to the bathroom! So, I decided to scratch at the carpet underneath the door in dire hopes that maybe somehow that would free me from JP's room. Come six o'clock I was tired, worn, and the bodily movement already occured on JP's floor. I wanted my Daddy. I felt like I was being punished for nothing. I just want to get out. Come six-thirty Dad woke up, but it wasn't to me. I felt alone. Dad, being suspicious as to where I went decided to go through the apartment and call my name. When I heard, "Boomer!," I scrateched the door and carpet like noneother. He opened the door and I almost literally jumped on him and purred. Dad was my savior, though be it four and a half hours late. Needless to say, I've learned never to trust that JP character ever again. I know Dad was asleep and couldn't control the situation, but maybe, just maybe, JP could have taken the time to look for me and ensure I was out of his room before going to bed. Sigh. I'm a tired kitty. Too much trauma. I'm taking a nap!
