Small Dog Play Date

Ariane on Activities - Thu, May 22 2008

I am trying to plan a small dog play group and I need some input. At what weight should we have the cut off be? I was thinking 35 pounds because we are trying to cater to the little guys that would normally get trampled at the dog parks. So does 35 pounds and under sound good?

I would say 35 pounds sounds about perfect. :)

What side of town are you on? Is this play date open to IP users? I may bring Maddy since her knees seem to be doing better.

We have an Indianapolis address but we are in Beech Grove. So I think Southeast. It's open to everyone that wants to come that's little. This is more of a trial run that we are trying but I suggested it because my friend and I feel better when they can have playmates their own size. And as much as we love the bg bark park I still like the small dog indoor setting. Strudel can squeeze under any fence. If enough people come then my boss will let us continue holding it on the weekends. We have to charge 5 bucks a dog though but I was going to say then it'd be 3 bucks for each additional. We haven't discussed anything for sure. But I want to try to do it the first weekend of July. I hope Strudel doesnt hump anyone but he has a thing for small white fluffy dogs. Boys and girls, he doesnt care. So beware.

I would love a small dog play date...we used to go to Bark Tutor's on Sundays but we haven't been in a while. Momma is really busy for the next few months getting ready for my aunt's wedding, but if this is something that continues we would love to come. We live on the northside, but would be willing to drive for a good play group. I am a bit shy though...Momma is trying to help me come out of my shell.

I think a few of our daycare clients will be coming. One of which is an adorable Boston named Duke! He is sooo cute and play like crazy.

This would be great. I can not come the first weekend in July. Mommy is on vacation and I am having my first kennel experience.
