My weekend at the Creek

OMG! I had such a good weekend. Friday was dad's birthday so mom came home early and they decided to take Maize and I to the creek for a romp and swim. Well, the creek we go to has a small retention dam and with all the rain we have had in the past 2 weeks, everything was flooded and the water was moving kinda fast. Mom wanted to turn around and go home without letting us swim, but dad said we'd be fine so we got to stay. Boy did I have fun!!! Usually the water is only high enough for me to swim in one spot, but this weekend it was all deep so I swam my butt off. One time, I really freaked mom out because I went chasing a stick that was floating by and I was out in the middle of the fast moving water gaining no ground. I didn't respond to dad calling me back and mom thought I was going to drown. Luckily I finally listened to dad and made my way back to shore. We were there for about an hour before Maize indicated she had had enough, so we went home. And then, it turned out to be a nice day Saturday, so we got to go AGAIN!! I swam and swam and swam until I could go no more. Boy did I have such a good weekend! I can't wait until next weekend!

Mom's note: the water at the creek was only about chest deep on me, so Colton was never in danger of drowning, but I still freaked out when he wouldn't come back.

That sounds like FUN! I love to swim in creeks and rivers. Did you have to get a bath afterwards? That's the only downfall.

Yeah, both Maize and I had to have baths Saturday night. But it was worth it!

Dude, did you wear your sunscreen? No sunburns, you know! Swimming sounds like lots of fun and I'm glad you get to do it. I can't swim without a life jacket. I'm built differently (top heavy I think) and just sink. I did almost drown once when we were up at the lake two summers ago. I fell off the pier and started sinking fast. Mom was right there to snatch me out. That's how she learned that pugs can't swim. No more lake for me unless I got my life jacket!

You know...I can't swim either. Dad was at a buddies house one time,and I juumped in the pool. Dad didn't notice until I was SO tired that the only thing that was above water was my nose! Mom won't let me go over there w/o her too now! Anyway, I just don't swim now and it's all good. Glad you had a great weekend Colton!

Wow, what a terrific weekend! I'm not that sure about all the water, but I'm sure I'd find a way to have a good time!
