Actually it's not just cats that have this problem. Mom was threatening to cut all my hair back there due to dingleberries. She said that she did trim my cat sister's booty just around that area to help with the problem. It's probably better to cut all that hair off at once rather than piece by piece.
Thanks, I don't want my mom to cut my fur, but she seems to think this would be a good idea! Come to think of it, my bro Kirby has has this problem, too (a fluffy corgi with a pompom butt)! Mom has had to snip his fur a few times. Blitzen, you're right. It would look better if my butt fur was all EVEN!
One of my little brothers is a long-haired cat, he gets the same problem sometimes and it grosses me out. My mom keeps the hair on his bottom cut shorter, but in the summer time she takes him to the groomer to get a lion cut. I think he looks stupid with a shaved body and a mane, and the tail is shaved except a little ball is left on the end of the tail, but he walks around like the king of the house with this hair-cut. At least he doesn't smell like poop.
