Foster Dog Dilemma

dreya on Boarding - Sun, May 04 2008

Josh and I went to Petco yesterday to get the cat door. I know one of the cashier girls there from going to the adoptions every other Saturday. As soon as we walk in she tells me she has found a stray girl pup and wants to know if anyone could foster her. I told her I didn't know cause Pam and Dale are out of town for a week and they are who we work with. She then proceeded to show me a picture of the little stray. She's a beautiful 10 month (about) old FAWN Am. Staff! She is SO beautiful!

I think Josh and I are going to foster her. Heather, the cashier girl said that she works with FIDO and that they are going to cover her vacs and spay for whoever decides to foster her - and a crate.

Heather has two very large boxer/pit boys of her own. They are very sweet but they are vying for the stray girl's attention which is wreaking havoc on her house. I told her we could not take the little pittie in until Pam and Dale get back because we are dog-sitting Peyton while they are on vacation and we just can't do five dogs at once right now. Peyton is a little pistol. Regardless, it would just be too much for all involved.

So that's our dilemma. Heather doesn't think she can last a week with two big dogs and a 35lb puppy running amok in her small abode. I am going to make some calls and see if I can find her a "foster home" for a week, then we would be able to take her in. If anyone has any ideas, bring em' on! I'll let you know how things go.

We will foster. We already have two cats. They are rescues. They came here. We did not find them. That is okay. I love cats and my sisters could learn some manners. I would say--if you have a place the cat can get up and away from every thing else, it will be fine. She does need a place to escape though. Mail me and let me know if you want me to foster her.

Thank you so much Star Hunter but she's not a kitty she's a pittie! :) You are so nice to offer to help when you are already taking care of your Mama! Such a good boy!! Thank you!
