Rumored Policy Change at IACC

Mark on Laws - Tue, April 29 2008

I just heard a nasty rumor that Animal Care and Control will no longer pick-up owner surrender animals and that animal control officers can no longer take away animals from people they cite for care and treatment issues unless the animal is in life threatening danger!

I sure hope this isn't true. If you're like me, you'll express your concerns to the Director of Public Safety (Scott Newman, snewman@indy.gov) and the Director of Animal Control (Steve Talley, stalley@indy.gov).

Just an FYI re: the email addresses, they are indygov.org, not indy.gov. Indy.gov may get the emails kicked back to you.

Where did you get this info? Their next board meeting is on 5/14 at 5:30. It might be worth attending to ask about this.
