Ted's a Natural

Alena on Activities - Mon, April 28 2008

Dad set up an agility course for us yesterday; 2 jumps, a 6 foot plank, a table, and a tunnel. Jude has been going to class for 3 weeks and is doing pretty good, espeically with the jumps, weaves, and A-frame.

I showed Ted how to run each obstacle once and he immediately got it. In less than 10 minutes, he was running the course off leash perfectly, even when it was changed! I was amazed...it reminds me of working with a little retriever (what I grew up with!). He's already almost advanced as Jude and in only 1 session!

Janet Wagner, who we are taking classes from, said it's totally fine to rotate between Jude and Ted...so I think that's what we'll be doing :)

Agility is really a lot of fun for any of you thinking about trying it--and the dogs love it!

That's really cool that Ted took to agility so quickly. He sure sounds like one smart Chi.

You should have Jude and Ted do Teacup Dog Agility. The courses are real close together and small, almost like a little fairy land. I got my beginner and intermediate titles in TDAA! Mom has started working on weaves with me again to see if she can make me not bark in between every weave. Fat chance.
