Dental Worry

Buster on Health - Thu, April 17 2008

It has been two weeks since my dental and when my skin sis was over last night she wanted to check me out. My gums are still inflamed post cleaning. Is this ok? or should Mama call my vet?

Mom says she would call the vet, just to be safe. That doesn't sound right. I hope everything is OK, and you don't have to actually go see the vet! I don't like going to the vet!!

Sometimes they get some inflammation that doesn't go away right away--you are moving all that bacteria around, and I bet some gets stuck under the gumline...your vet will probably give them a round of antibiotics to make sure it doesn't infected. This happened to Alf, but it eventually went away after some antibiotics and just keeping a close eye on things.

I would call the vet. It's better to be safe than sorry.
