Nina on Activities - Wed, April 16 2008

I'm sorry this has to be my first post on here, but I really need some help.

Over a week ago, I was out walking two of my dogs ( a female mixed, and a male Black and Tan coonhound) when a pitbull came out of his house and attacked us. When everything was over and done with, my male had nasty bite marks on him, as did I. Well, my female, God love her, ran off, as did my male. They're both runners. My male came back later on that night and we rushed him to the emergancy vet. My female has yet to return.

Her name is Brighid. She's a black shepard/chow mix and she weights about 40 lbs. When she ran off, she was wearing a black harness with silver paw prints on it. And she is my baby. My fiance and I have combed the neighborhoods and called and gone to the Animal Control center, but she hasn't shown up yet.

I'm so worried about her because she is slightly feral. My fiance found her in a park, tied up, and it was apparent she had just had puppies. From what I can decipher from her actions when we first got her, she was pretty much left to fend for herself. She's also male aggressive. Once she gets to know you, though, she'll love you for ever. We've had her almost a year and she's gotten much better.

I'm so worried that someone has found her and they're not going to understand all of her little quirks. If any body knows anything, please let me know.

I miss my baby.

unfortunately , sounds to me like she stands a good chance of being picked up..my advice is to call the police and animal control daily.(i am sure others will have better advice)

i understand the circumstances and please dont hate me for saying this , but if you have had her a year, why not get shots or at least a rabies shot? this would increase her chances of survival and being returned?.(sorry just had to ask)

Where were you when you lost her? That sounds awful and I hope you find your baby soon. :(
