Oh no, I am so sorry for you, Regina, and your family. It sounds like you have really tried hard to make the best of a bad situation. I'm sure that Regina's time with you and your family has been wonderful. Just hold her close and try to make peace with yourself knowing that you are doing the right thing for her, no matter how hard it is on you. In the past when I have faced this I have actually taken the animal and explained what is going to happen and why. It seems to me that my animals have understood and that made me feel better. Good luck and God Bless.
Thank you all for your kind words of support. I gave Regina a saucer of cream and all the catnip she could stomach then we went outside to lay in the sun for a few hours this afternoon. I got a sunburn and my face hurts from all the crying but I got to spend one last sunny day w/ my graybaby. My chest feels empty, part of me is releived and the other part feels horrible. I know that she was never going to get any better so I have to take heart in this decision. She's now at peace and that is all that matters.
