Good News on the Security Front

Perl on Laws - Tue, April 15 2008

Okay, troops, and I use the term loosely, listen up. First, I am happy to report that the squirrels have fallen back and are not an immediate threat. However, continued vigilence. Second, we now have allies. The woodpeckers were so angry at the squirrels intrusion into their nesting area that we now have allies with air power! And if you've ever seen a woodpecker hammer away at a tree, you know it's real firepower! They can't promise that their pileated cousins will join us, but I cannot say enough good things about our allies. Third, and it's related to the second, even the sparrows have fallen back. It's quiet ... too quiet ... but now the enemy is at least reacting to us.

So, continued vigilence, keep us informed, and write if you get work.

Field Marshall Snortblaster signing off.

That's good to know about the woodpeckers, we can use all the allies we can get. Things have been quit here too, but we are still staying vigilent.

Hi Ben, sure you can join the troops we can use all the help we can get. Here is what you need to do: eradicate the EVIL Squirrel. If you have any squirrels in your neighborhood, try to capture and interrogate it to find out what they are planning then report back to us. Good Luck!

Perl, don't let your guard down, my sources tell me those bushy tailed rodents are just planning their next move. And Snickers tells me that the Bluejays are on our side also because he saw one after a squirrel yesterday when he was on patrol. However I told him not to get to close to them Bluejays that they could not be trusted. OVER AND OUT

I would send my hawk over to help out with the squirrel problem but I'm sure it would upset the woodpeckers. It's all about the "food chain".

I haven't seen the ducks around lately, either... what's going on?

Thank you for the update, Field Marshall Snortblaster. Things have been quiet in our neck of the woods too. Francie and I spent a few hours outside last night while Mom worked in the yard. I'm happy to report there were no sightings of the evil rodent squirrels.

Colonel Basset-report from Western front-- Went on patrol yesterday. Saw to of the vermin in the woods but they quickly moved into the tree. Good to hear about the woodpecker because one has a "tree home" right in front of the squirrel compound. It's out there daily, now I know why. I did send a message to the turtle armada. There were 8 of them on the log yesterday. Mama thought I was drinking from the pond but it was Morse code to the turtles and frogs. Stupid squirrels didn't even suspect me.

I will continue patrols with Mama in the evening. She makes a great decoy. The squirrels assume we are walking through the yard....little do they know, I got my eyes on them. And I too have not seen the ducks in a few days although the crane was back yesterday. We need him! I will attempt to make contact---

That is all- ETB

Mine seems to be. He stays on the opposite side of the pond from the squirrel compound. The only time he did go over there, they ran! Ours has been coming out for a long time. I bet he's 3-4 ft tall. Mama got cool pics of him one day. I'll have to her post them.

Last Fall there were hundreds and hundreds of cranes flying over our house. It made me so tired that I had to take a nap.

Welcome aboard, soldier. I'll send Beauregard over for an emergency training course. See if you can help him out, he's not the brightest star in the galaxy. Mostly what we need is information, though any interrogation that ends in death is fine, provided we claim to be leftist freedom fighters; that way the media will come up with hundreds of excuses for us.

I have been out patrolling the front. So far I have yet to see any of these furry bandits in my neighborhood. I am actually sort of disappointed that I don't get to participate in the rodent harassment. (Sorry, Dooney.)

I observed the oddest squirrel behavior this evening. They have no fear. As the lawn mower was making a pass, a squirrel walked, WALKED I say, right in FRONT of the running mower! Perhaps it was blind, deaf...I don't know but something is going on. It wasn't chewed up, it scooted under the fence. All I could do was stand there and watch.

Huh. Odd. Tell me, did that deaf, dumb and blind squirrel sure play a mean pinball?
