We Got a Terrorist Squirrel!

Perl on Laws - Mon, April 14 2008

Troops, I am happy to report that Colonel Beauregard and I managed to catch, interrogate, and kill our first squirrel today! It took some time, but our plan came shining through.

As you may know, the bipeds have us in shock collars with one of those buried electric current thingies from Dog Watch. It works well, and we trained the squirrels to believe we would go within two feet of the chain link fence but no farther. Today the female biped let us out for the morning tinklefest as usual, but she couldn't find my collar, so this morning being cold (and I hate cold), I went out without one.

We saw the evil squirrel not too far from the maple tree where they built their nest. We ran at it and it jumped next to the chain link fence ... but I didn't stop! Oh, you should have seen the beady little eyes on that rat when I plunged on and bit it on the back, just above the tail. It had gone halfway through the chain link of the fence and had a hold of the fence post with its front feet. I was trying to pull it back through. Beauregard tried to help twice but the shock on his collar finally got some sense into him and he stopped. He did help with great encouraging barks, though. The female biped came out to see what the ruckus was all about; she shrieked and shouted in approval at my interrogation techniques.

Then she pulled me back and started to see if the squirrel was okay. Stupid biped! I got taken into the house before my interrogation was complete, but I can pass this along: the sparrows are in on it! Beauregard and I are now negotiating help; with luck, there is more news to follow.

Later, we went back out and the darned squirrel was back, probably planting land mines disguised as acorns. Well, it wasn't able to run well, so we nailed it! That rat is as dead as Queen Ann. Its mate wasn't too happy, but we'll get it, too, and all the proto-terrorists in the nest, too.

I can tell you this: they are tasty, almost as good as chipmunks. We're psyched!

Sincerely,
The Killer Queen

By the way, the female biped is mourning over the squirrel family. Insanity, I tell you! I knew she was losing her connection to reality with this: http://www.indypaws.com/post/index/11375 but SYMPATHIZING with squirrels? Ugh! I save her from almost certain acorn-related death and she acts this way. Some people's children ...

All hail Killer Queen!! We've been hot on the trail of these squirrels and their new allies. The idea was brought forth in enlist the help of the fish, frogs, and turtles as we believe the ducks and geese have fallen in with the squirrels. You should have left the squirrel on the fence as a warning to all others who would attempt to infiltrate your kingdom. AND tell your female biped that the squirrels tried to steal Mama's truck the other day AND she has found acorns in her truck bed and under the hood. Beware of Saboteurs!!

The large biped put it on the fence, in a bag! It's great! But he put it on the other side so I can't get to it! Why?! Squirrel tails make the best floss! Dental hygiene! Oh boy! My favorite!

Wow, you killed a squirrel? Mama's first dog did that. He got the silent treatment all day long. I don't think I would actually kill one, maybe just chase it.

Oh, your majesty, I am so thrilled for you! Mom said that the whole squirrel on the fence idea as a deterrent reminds her of the Stephen King book and movie, "The Stand." There were lots of people hanging from fences as a warning to fear the humans on the dark side. We, of course, are the bright side, trying to remove those nasty, sneaky, evil rodents from harming our humans. What part of that does your mom not get?????

After we come in, our terrorist squirrel sits right in front of the sunroom window. He doesn't have the nerve when we're outside. Mom won't let us out cause somebody told her that squirrels can get in a mean fight with a dog and hurt us. A couple times, she didn't know it was there when we went out but it slipped through the fence before we got it. Those squirrels are tricky and we don't want them around!

WOW! I am amazed at your skill, Perl. I am working on jumping up tree trunks. I jump, hit the tree, jump again, etc. I can get a good distance up a tree trunk like that. I almost caught a squirrel the other day, but he was a little too quick. I'm going to get one some day!!

I have had the tail in my mouth and it did do a great job flossing as it ran away. I commend you for your valiant capture. Hanging it on the fence is a little creepy but I'm sure the other squirrels got the message. Being that today is going to be nice, I'll be outside most of the day on patrol. Did you know that the longer you're outside, the more desensitized the terrorists become of your presence? Oh ya.... I will catch one today. Keep it up Perl and Beau!!

All hail the Killer Queen. That rodent got what was coming to him. I hope there are many more to follow in his dead footsteps.

Way to go Perl, we knew that those bushy tailed rodents were headed your way, Snickers sources told him Saturday at a meeting and he relayed it to Capt. Chase yesterday. Good job, well done.

Terrific job Queen Perl! Mom made our tie-outs longer, so maybe I'll have a chance soon.

Woohoo....good going....hate them vermin....they taunt us from over the fence every day. Tweeter got one last year...they were a little bit scared after that, but they're back in full force this year. I guess they need a reminder.

Hang them from the fence.
