why's everybody pickin on me?

Izzy on Activities - Sun, April 13 2008

I was spayed on Thursday morning at FACE. Just so I don't over do it w/ my stitches, Mom's been keeping me in her room. We live in a tri-level w/ a lot of stairs. I feel great and am bouncing back to my old self pretty quickly. But what I don't understand is as soon as Mom let me out this morning every other kitty in the house promptly attacked me? I don't get it I was out of commision for a few days and now the whole house has gone crazy. Who do they think they are? I'm the instigator, I run around chasing everyone, causing almost all of the trouble, that's my job and I want it back! I don't play the victim well. What happened? I know that I smell funny from being at that FACE place and probably that medicine they used to knock me out. But Mom got a furbaby wipe and gave me a "bath" before letting me loose. Does Mom need to keep me in her room a few days longer until I'm capable of warp speed again or what? Confused, Izzy

This happened to me after I got spayed, too. Cookie hissed at me and acted like I was an intruder. After being in a strange place and smelling weird after all of that medicine, I guess he didn't think I was the same kitty. Oreo wasn't so weird, but Cookie sure was. I was with my brothers as soon as I got home and they got the point that I was still Pearle, I just smelled different. Oreo licked me and gave me a "bath" and then things were back to normal. It's just the way you smell. Until your stitches are out, you mom needs to watch you with your siblings so things don't get too rough. They just think you smell weird.
