Ducks, squirrels! Front yard!!

Hoover on Behavior - Fri, April 11 2008

The time has come. They have become smarter than me (shut-up Kirby) *sideways glare*. I can't GET to the front yard which is WHY I say they they have out-smarted me. They know....

Right now there are a pair of ducks AND a squirrel sitting together in my front yard. They are talking and conspiring about how to take over the counrty. We need to take action FAST. The ducks have been flying over my house for the past week, re-con missions no doubt, and have been tormenting my back-yard dog-neighbor for as long. She is at her wits end. She told me yesterday. She is an only dog, a beagle/rottie mix and has a one acre yard! I might has well be an only dog. Kirby doesn't care and Lola is just a baby!!!

Perl, Beau, Maddie, Deuce, ETB, others, we need you in our 'hood ASAP! Things are going downhill fast. When they start to figure out where you can and can't go, you know they're talking. Getting their "ducks in a row", if you know what I mean.

One bonus...duck poop. I found some in the back yard yesterday which means I MISSED them! It's great to roll in.

I haven't seen my ducks lately. Could be the same ones flying in your 'hood now. The muskrat was back yesterday but I think Papaw is going to remove him with extreme predjudice as soon as he catches him. I think I can spare some time. I was hot on the tail of a squirrel last evening but he got up that dang tree again. THEN I had to get a wipe down when I came in because I ran through some puddles. At least it wasn't a bath.

Hoover--As soon as I can find some car keys, I'll be there.

I though I saw the Super Dog Friends' signal in the sky early this morning. ETB, can you come pick me up? We need to bring Francie Pants too because it turns out the old girl can run and chase better than younger dogs. Wednesday, Mom took us for a walk and she started climbing up a tree (it had low branches) to get to a squirrel. It was very impressive.

Ernest T...
If you don't mind when you get the car keys can you swing by and pick me up?
There is no action around here since the pine trees were cut down. Yes, there is one squirrel that is getting closer and closer to the house which means mom is afraid it may come in through the doggy door. But..it sounds like all the action is over at Hoover's "hood".

Hoover sign me and Bridgette up for duty and we will keep you covered from the south flank, the ducks have not been around here but the fast old rodents with the bushy tails have. We will await your orders.

Sign me up! EBT, can you pick me up, too? I managed to spook one of those sneaky ducks out at Ft. Harrison. The squirrels have my yard figured out, too. We're on tie-outs, and they sit on the fence 2 feet from us and chitter! Once we're done in your neighborhood, maybe everyone could come to mine and teach these squirrels a lesson!

I've been outside all morning and I haven't seen hide nor hair of the ducks. I'm assuming they got the info they needed and headed out. The squirrels are very active in the back yard and I almost got one. It couldn't find a "out" spot under the fence. Once it did, it just stood on the grass and twitched. A little too close for comfort, huh, you little rat!

We're doing all we can in our yard, Hoover! It's overrun with squirrels!! One of them had the nerve to chee at my mom the other day! I am working hard to climb the trees. I'm now able to jump, hit the tree, jump again, etc. I can do that a couple times and get halfway up the trunk. A little more practice, and I may get high enough to catch one!

Sounds like something I need to help with. I LOVE to chase things and squirrels sound fun (we don't have them at our house)
