Special needs Doxie needs home

Ana on Breeds - Wed, April 09 2008

Hey guys! Got a boy looking for a home!

This dog is a deaf and blind 2 year old Doxie that needs a good home.

He was brought to the vets office to be euthanized because he was biting at the kids. The doc thought he was worth saving so he had the owner sign him over. It is obvious that he was biting the kids because they were abusive towards him. He has been in foster for a week with no kids and 3 dogs and 2 cats and has adjusted wonderfully. His new home must be kids free!

He has grown very attached to his foster dad, groomer Rick, and will be a wonderful pet for someone who wants a dog by their side at all times. He is beautiful! I dont know how to describe him really but to try he is merle on the backside and brown and white in the front. He has been altered and vaccinated and ready to go to the right home.

It took a few days for him to become ok with thet other dogs but is now playing and living the life all dogs should.

Keep in mind, he does have special, needs so will need a home where someone can give him a lot of attention.

If my husband says ok he will live with me but with all the critters I have I would bet money he will say NO!

If you are willing to look at the dog send me a message and I can email pics, he is absolutly beautiful! If you have any other questions you can call Rick at 317-340-3286. He is fostering this boy. There will be an adoption fee to cover neuter and vax costs!

Thanks.

And if you're interested, I'll throw in my foster sister for free! I am so not letting mom see this post. We are NOT having any more Dachshunds around here. It's ridiculous when you try to patrol the neighborhood and people are laughing at the "wiener parade".

The Weiner Parade!! Hahah! It's kind of like us, the "Low-Riders" Brigade.. Everyone gets a smile on their face when they see us coming! As for the doxie up for adoption, we can't take anymore. Just be aware that there are some older children like my 10 year old daughter who is amazing with animals. I can understand very young kids, but older ones can be awesome with a special needs dog. Don't rule them out.

Yeah his back half is dapple. I have been trying to post his pic but for some reason it is not working. I can email a pic if you like.

Aw, I wish we could take him. I do love Dachshunds. He sounds like such a sweetie, and I hope he gets adopted soon.

I wish we could take him, but right now it seems like I am not ready to share attention. He sounds so cute and it is amazing how he has adapted...a real trooper.
