I agree with Rhonda. We have toned down (really almost all together stopped) our rude answers. I do not know that we ever really got vicious, but certain things were getting out of control. It is so much nicer now that people have kept rude and judgemental comments to themselves, and tried to be more educational than judgemental. I really do think that it will better the site, and hopefully save some animals lives with education and love. Thanks all for making this a great site !!
Well, I don't have any kids so I can't speak about IndyMoms, but I love, love, love IndyPaws! I've made some great friends here and also have learned a lot. I also got Francie Pants through IP, so that makes this site even more dear to my heart!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope you're feeling well and can't wait to hear all about the new adventures awaiting your family when the baby arrives.
That's great to hear for IP and not so great for IM. I agree that we have become more accepting of other people's points of view, or just don't respond if it's something we disagree with. I have learned so much from people on the site, and have made several really good friends as well. We are looking forward to reports about the blessed event!
I too have learned so much since becoming a memeber last spring. I think of you all as friends and am getting excited about meeting some of you in person. I think one of the best things for me about becoming a member of IP is Bogie. He is our first ever foster dog and I would have never know about Indianapolis Great Pyrenees Rescue except a few on here foster for them too. I just wish I had more time, money and space so I could do even more......
Same here. Madison was the first pet I had ever had, aside from easy pets like rodents and fish. :P
I learned so much here about health concerns, nutritional needs, house training, and behavior. Sometimes I marvel at what I would have done with out all the great advice I have been given here. Although I have not met any of you IRL, except Pam (Nadji and Rosie's mom) at the UB Greenwood protest, I consider us a pretty tight-knit community.
I have gotten some wonderful information on this site. It has also gotten me into transporting dogs from kill shelters to rescues, which I love doing! I've also got a couple of applications out to foster. On IP these things are considered normal. Most people I know think I'm nuts and call me Ellie Mae. People I meet on IP or transporting are as "nutty" as I am.
Nutty? I think you're a saint! I would like to do a transport if my vehicle was more reliable and I had way more time on my hands.
