I was a bad doggy.

Nicholas James on Behavior - Tue, April 01 2008

So, those of you who know me know that I scare easily. The other day, (Sunday morning to be exact) I was on a walk with Mom and Andy and I saw something (who knows what?!) and fought my way out of my collar. I started to run down Illinois and then on to 58th St. Mom was freaking out, not as bad as when Andy gets away because he runs in the streets and I do not, but still.

She tricked me though. She kept trying to catch me and I kept running away. Finally, she said "Okay Nicholas, see you later!" and started home with Andy. I thought she was going to leave me!

Andy was a wreck, howling and probably waking up the whole neighborhood! So I ran back to them. Mom told me I was bad for running away but I was a good boy for coming back. Looks like I need a harness, huh?

boy dude, I don't recommend doing that again. When I was a puppy, I got away from Daddy and ran two houses away before I realized I was lost. **shudder** Don't want to do that again. I'd get a harness --- and stick with Mom. They always know best.

Nick, dude.....DO NOT run away from your mom. Especially on a busy street. This has a tendency to get you in more trouble than you could ever imagine. What would your mom have done if you got hit by a car? She'd be REALLY sad and upset. From now on, stick close to mom.

I agree with Colton. I have never gotten away from mom, but I think it would be scary to leave her behind.

I can slip out of my collar too! Mom only uses a harness now when we go on walks because of my Houdini abilities.

Nicholas James, don't you ever do that again!!! *sigh* Your mama loves you so much that she would be devestated if anything happened to you. Glad you're okay.
