Transport going through Indy

Leopold & Teri on Activities - Mon, March 31 2008

2 more transports going through Indy April 5th. One is going north with 2 lab mixes. The other is going east with 6 dogs, all under 25#'s. Some on here have shown interest. If still interested PM me for details.

Do you know if there is ever a transport on Sunday? I work a second job on Saturdays, but am always off on Sundays. I have a Subaru Outback stationwagon so I can take LOTS of dogs..... Plus I live north of Indy near Lafayette/Kokomo so I could take northern routes if needed.

I haven't been a part of this group for very long, but it looks like they do it every weekend. If I hear of any Sunday transport needed I'll let you know. It's very rewarding. Everybody should do it once!

Where is the East trasport going to and where are they picked up at? Do they have crates that they ride in?What kind of dogs are they? I have never did something like this before but I am thinking about doing it.

The east transport is going to New York. There is a Chihuahua mix, 2 setter mixes, a Beagle mix, & a hound mix & a mini-pin. You supply the crates.

I have done a couple of transports. I was nervouse the first time because i was not going to have crates for the dogs (I did have a crate for the puppies). Everything went fine, the dogs ere very calm and probably a little confussed about what was going on. You have to be very careful when moving them from car to car and giving them a potty break. You can "tether" them while they are in your car. Most likely you will be picking them up from someone who has transported before and they can show you the ropes.

It's a great way to help some very needy dogs!

Darn! I really wanted to help with a transport, but my folks are coming to visit for the first time. I hope you'll still post future transports.

One of the ladies that I met from Terre Haute said she does this every weekend. I'm sure there will be plenty more to choose from.
