(Another) Rottweiller Needs a Home

Anne on Breeds - Mon, March 31 2008

Hello All - I received this email from work. I know the original poster, so if anyone is interested, respond to this post (my email isn't working) and I'll send you her contact info:

Friends: As you are probably aware, I work in area that has heavy traffic and is intensely urban. The second time in as many weeks, a young male Rottweiler came wandering into our parking lot. He had a collar, but no tags and is not chipped. He is not only a beautiful dog, but SWEET-very friendly and not people or other dog aggressive at all (don't know about cats). He appears to be about a year old. He knows sit, down and will do a short down stay. He is not neutered and needs to be-since I suspect that is what caused him to get out of wherever he was. He has had a bath and was good for that too. He does not get on furniture.

I already have 4 dogs and if I come home with another, my husband is gonna divorce me! If this dog goes to Animal care and Control, he will in all likelihood be put down. I had 2 Rotties for years and they are wonderful dogs-funny, affectionate, leaners (meaning they lean against you for affection) and stashers (hiding their treats and little treasures). This dog has all the best of the breed, is clearly full blooded, but is not huge. He will make some one a fabulous friend and companion. Please pass this along to everyone you know - I need to find him a home ASAP. My contact info is below and I will try and answer any questions anyone has. Please help me find this pooch a home.

Oh man, another rottie needing a home and we don't have enough room nor money to raise another furkid. I hope you are able to find a home for him soon. I would hate to see him go to ACC.

Is the rescue group "Recycled Rotts" in this area, or am I getting confused with the Northwest Indiana area (where I used to live)?

I PMd you the link to recycled rotts. It is in the Chicago area, but maybe they can help? Here is the link again, just in case your PMs don't work. http://www.recycledrotts.org

Thanks Nancy.. I emailed her a few rottie rescue groups just in case, but didn't know about this one - I'll send the link to her!
