Cows in our yard?!

Colton on My Blog - Wed, March 26 2008

At about 4:00 this morning me, Bogie and Raven all starting barking our fool heads off and woke mom up. She was kind of concerned because we would not be quiet even after she yelled at us. Plus both Bogie and I were using our "Big Boy" barks. I only ever use this bark when something is wrong in my world and mom says it can sound really fierce. After barking and barking, mom FINALLY got up to see what we were barking at and to her suprise we were barking at COWS! There were 3 cows in our back yard! Can you believe that?! Mom says that the cows live about 1.5 miles down the road, so what were they doing in our yard? I HAD to protect mom and insisted on going out with her when she investigated the "cow issue". Those big beasts were kinda dumb, they just stood there and looked at me as I was barking at them to go away/ get out of my yard. Apparently they don't know who I am. I am "Colton"- protector of my yard and my mom. After checking out the cows, mom made me go back inside while she drove to the neighbor's house to let them know their cows were out. Boy I sure had an exciting morning!

Nuh-uh! Now THAT'S weird! I probably would have fainted seeing those big things. I saw them once at a rest stop and they freaked me out. I like to chew their hoofies, though. Did they leave you any? How about poop to roll in?

Bogie did freak out 'cause he had never seen them before, but I've seen them lots. We walk past them everytime we go for a walk, but NEVER in my yard before! I'll have to ask mom if they left any poop to roll in or any hoovies to chew on.....

You showed them, didn't you Colton? That's why you're my bodyguard. Now, Bogie better get accustomed to those cows if he's going to be your assistant. He can't be freaking out you know.

Been there, buddy. We used to have cows in our yard all the time. Mama was a heck of a herder. And chickens! Oh, I hate the chickens. Nice job. Just be careful, they have a mean kick to them.

I would have barked at cows, too. And, in your yard, how dare they. What's a cow? I bark a just about anything. I'm glad you're taking care of your mom!

Gee, you are really brave, Colton....I'm not really sure what a cow is either, but if it's really big, I'm sure I would have stayed behind the sewing machine.
